Once you have taken the Marine Mammal Observer SoS course and passed you can then upgrade with this one day JNCC course. This course will allow you to work in UKCS and respective areas.

This course can ONLY be taken in conjunction with the MMO SoS course.

 

This course is for the student to become a fully trained Marine Mammal Observer.

You will be taken though every aspect of the job and all the skills involved in becoming a fully trained MMO for UKCS waters only.

Confidence as an MMO comes from the knowledge that you are well prepared in your topic and the resources you’ll use to to work in a demanding environment. Confidence, is also understanding that an effective MMO is someone who presents in a professional manner, is effective at communicating and has developed an awareness of the skills involved to be accurate and precise in all aspects of the job.

In this course, we’d like to share with you our combined experience in the Marine Mammal and regulations sector working with collective skills. Our focus will be on the legal and more practical aspects of MMO working and we’d like to draw on some of the skills and knowledge we’ve gained through our respective careers to offer you some practical techniques, approaches, hints and suggestions that you may be able to apply to your own skill set. Whether you’re an experienced marine biologist/MMO or just starting out, this course aims to develop the skills that you already have and help you become a more confident and accomplished MMO.

 

There is always a facilitator available to assist with any areas you are having difficulties with.

The certificate will be issued at completion of the course so please ensure you have completed ALL your personal details in full and correctly, you must upload a passport sized photo that will be used on you ID card.

This course covers all aspects of the JNCC UKCS and working in UK waters.

This course is for the student to become a fully trained Marine Mammal Observer.

This course requires approximately 4 – 6 hours of study per day/week, but can vary depending on the student and urgency of acquiring certification. This includes watching videos, and taking quizzes and assessments. The total video ONLY time for this course is approximately  5 hours  30 minutes, this does not include all the reading materials and references.

If you pass this course you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
